I just thought I’d write
Well folks, it’s been quite some time since I last posted an update. But fortunately, as they say “no news is good news”.
As you can see Keira has been doing quite well these past 5 months. With only minor lung infections that were quickly quashed Keira is rapidly approaching her 2nd birthday (June 4th).
Her mom, Paige, was fortunate enough to be able to locate an excellent daycare that had no qualms about taking a CF toddler. In fact, it’s too bad that so many daycares are often leery of taking CF kids. From our experience, the majority of Keira’s health needs are not that dissimilar from typical good hygiene practices any daycare should be using anyway; handwashing, and cleaning/disinfecting shared toys, etc. Additionally, her medications are pretty straight forward and other than the fact she’ll need them every day the staff was quickly brought up to speed.
With any luck things will keep going this smoothly.
